Quarry HunsletsThis gallery is devoted to narrow-gauge Hunslets previously used in various slate quarries throughout North Wales. A very high proportion of these have survived in to preservation and can be found all over Great Britain (and in some cases overseas). All photos by unless otherwise credited. (these are all full-size, see the Model Narrow Gauge Hunslet gallery for models)
Quarry locos usually did not have cabs due to restricted clearances. Most preserved Hunslets have cabs, CLOISTER has been left "open".

JERRY M is larger than an ALICE class such as CLOISTER and therefore was not used in the quarry itself but on the "mainline" taking dressed (finished) slates for onward shipping.
